Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons: their last encore.
We don’t need four reasons to see The Four Seasons: they’re just too good to be true!
When Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons broke into the music industry in 1962 with their smash hit, "Sherry", the writing was on the wall: they were indeed something extraordinary. With their memorable melodies, soaring gravity-defying falsetto vocals, swooning lyrics, perfectly blended harmonies, and charming stage presence, they had the x-factor, and audiences fell in love with them everywhere. With smash hits such as "Grease", "Candy Girl", 'Silence Is Golden", "Walk Like a Man", "Rag Doll", and "Can't Take My Eyes Off You", they stayed at the top for well over 60 years.
The original members of The Four Seasons – Frankie Valli, Tommy DeVito, Nick Massi, and Bob Gaudio – were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990, and Frankie Valli into the New Jersey Hall of Fame in 2010, and the Four Seasons individually from 2017 onwards.
Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons might be bidding us farewell with The Last Encores Tour, but the legacy they are leaving behind is incomparable. Their musical influences reach as far and wide as top musicians such as Barry Gibb from The Bee Gees, Billy Joel, and Brian Wilson from The Beach Boys. “Jersey Boys”, a highly successful musical based on the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, containing some of their smash hits, opened on Broadway in 2005. The musical was nominated for eight Tony Awards, of which it received four, most notably Best Musical, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor.
Even now, after Frankie Valli has turned 90, he is coming in hotter than ever at the state-of-the-art Texas Trust CU Theatre. The advanced indoor performance space sports a fantastic seating capacity of 6,350, divided into several sections. If you hurry and get your tickets now, you might be lucky enough to secure the "King's Row" – the mezzanine section offering premium seating and getting up close and personal. If not, don't worry - every seat in the Texas Trust CU Theatre is a good seat, so be prepared to be totally blown away by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons' oozing charm, charisma, and appeal!
