On the 7th of February this year the triad known as Marca MP dropped some exciting news on social media, announcing their 2024 ‘SIMPLEMENTE MARCA TOUR’. The tour is a whopping 7 months, where the trio will take to stages and perform material from their latest album, ‘LEALTIAD’, as well as some of their older tracks. Marca MP are the Californian based Regional Mexican group that have embraced their heritage and used strong influences from ranchera, banda and mariachi to give a firm foundation to their music. The three young men have created a harmonious blend of romantic songs and corridos that is pared down to a single tuba, bass and guitar backing. Mixed with their daring and often flamboyant aesthetics (they often don mariachi styled outfits with plenty of flair and bling) they have created a band that people identify with, whatever their heritage, age or gender.
Chato, Omar Valdivia and Ernesto Franco started their triad in 2018 by playing gigs at flea markets and quinceaiieras throughout California, where their unique style and music created intense music experiences that audiences couldn’t help but respond to. They amassed a collection of songs and by 2019 they had recorded 4 tracks. Their track, ‘El Gtiero’ combined a nostalgic melody and defiant lyrics that struck a chord with listeners and just months after the track was released, it reached over 1 million streams via Spotify. The world opened their arms to Marca MP and they began to play concerts further afield. Since then, they have collaborated with other music sensations, such as Becky G and released more original music that has listeners begging for more.
For 2024 they are excited to be hittin’ the road for their ‘Simplemente Marca Tour’ in support of the recent release of their ‘LEALTAD’ album. The album is an emotional, often romantic, collection of 10 songs that has people’s hearts singing along. Chato, lead singer and harmoniser of the trio, showcased his songwriting skills as he composed 7 of the original tracks.
