About Keith Sweat:
In 1987, Keith Sweat dropped his debut album, "Make It Last Forever." The album successfully sold a whopping four million copies. It was indeed a game-changer for him as an artist who was stuck in a 9-5 job. "I Want Her" was the most successful hit from the album and it echoed through the charts. He kept the momentum going with his sophomore album, "I'll Give All My Love To You." The album instantly reached #3 on the Billboard 200 chart. His next release, "Keep It Comin," debuted in the Top 20. Fast forward to the summer of 1994, and he released his fourth album, "Get Up On It."
In 1996, he graced fans with his self-titled fifth album, "Keith Sweat." The album quickly soared to #5 on the Billboard 200. The singles "Twisted" and "Nobody" became instant classics. They reached #2 and #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, respectfully.
Keith Sweat wasn't just successful solo as he also helped other groups. In 1992, he met the group Silk. He helped with crafting their debut album, "Lose Control." Upon its release, it landed at #7 on the Billboard 200. In 1995, he discovered the Atlanta-based R&B group Kut Klose and produced their debut album, "Surrender." The album features the hit single "I Like" which climbed to #8 on Billboard's "Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles."
Since then, he has written a handful of pop-soul hits for other artists through the years. Some of there are: “Just Got Paid” by Johnny Kemp, “Come Around” by Chantay Savage, and “Freak Me,” recorded by Silk.
“Everything helps,” he said. “It helps create that legacy feeling, it keeps you relevant, and everything I do is about putting myself and this music in front of people. I understand the value of trying to do different things to keep moving forward and keep that legacy alive.”
When Keith Sweat and the other R&B artists bring the show to Texas, you better be sure not to miss it. It's going to be the perfect night of R&B so get your tickets now!
